Video Games That Predicted the Future

Some video games don’t just entertain us they surprise us by predicting technological advancements or scenarios that became reality years later. Here are a few examples that seem straight out of a crystal ball:

Tablets in Deus Ex (2000)
In this game, characters used portable devices similar to modern tablets for reading documents and completing tasks. And this was years before the first iPad launched!

Virtual Reality in Metal Gear Solid (1998)
During a training mission, Solid Snake uses a virtual environment to practice. What seemed futuristic at the time is now a reality with devices like Oculus and PlayStation VR.

Smart Homes in The Sims (2000)
Long before smart assistants like Alexa or Google Home existed, The Sims showcased how we could control appliances and devices in our homes automatically.

These games didn’t just capture our imagination they gave us a glimpse of the future. Who knows? The next big technological breakthrough might already be hidden in a video game.
