Do you remember those days when you sat in front of the screen, button-mashing until your fingers hurt? If so, you probably played some of the classic Olympic video games that have marked gaming history. Let's take a trip down memory lane!
Track & Field (1983)
This was the pioneer. Konami brought us this arcade game where rapidly pressing buttons was the key to winning. Competing in the 100-meter dash or throwing the javelin had never been so intense. A real challenge for your fingers!
Decathlon (1983)
For those who had an Atari 2600, this game was a real challenge. With ten events, from the long jump to the 1500-meter race, your fingers would end up exhausted, but the satisfaction of setting a new record made it all worth it.
Mario & Sonic Series
This is where things get really fun. Since 2007, Mario and Sonic have teamed up to compete in Olympic events. Who wouldn't want to see Mario and Sonic face off in a 100-meter race? These games have been a hit, combining the charm of the characters with the excitement of the Olympics.
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game
Although the Tokyo 2020 Olympics were a bit different due to the pandemic, this official video game allowed us to experience the Olympic spirit from home. With incredible graphics and a ton of events to choose from, it was a great way to feel part of the games.
These titles have not only entertained us but also made us feel like real Olympic athletes. Each has left its mark, from the pixelated graphics of the '80s to today's immersive experiences.
